Local Deliveries
Herefordshire
We deliver throughout Herefordshire, including Hereford, Leominster, Bromyard, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and surrounding areas.
Logs are tipped loose, to reduce plastic usage.
Collections from our yard
We stock bulk bags and larger crates of firewood for customers who are able to collect from our yard at Moreton onLugg.

Locally Sourced Timeber
We source hardwood and softwood logs from local Foresters and fallen trees from nearby Farmers. Where timber is harvested it is followed by a replanting programme.

Patiently Seasoned
Logs are cut to 9 inches and split so they are suitable for the majority of wood burners and open fires. Then set aside in crates, until it’s thoroughly seasoned and dry. This patient traditional approach, that’s worked forever, avoids the massive release of carbon that kiln dried logs generate.

How we deliver firewood in Herefordshire
Our tipper truck is divided into bulk bag sized compartments so we can deliver familiar load sizes. We offer discounted prices for larger half and full tipper loads. As our customer reviews show, we communicate well and deliver promptly and reliably.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you deliver?
Our logs are delivered and tipped loose. We will call ahead to confirm a suitable delivery time with you. We aim to deliver on dry days and within 7 days of the order, at peak cold times we may state a longer time on our website banner.
Part loads at the edge of our delivery area are likely to need to the full time we advertise for deliveries.
For new customers we will arrange to meet you to receive the wood. If you are happy to, then we can deliver subsequent loads once we know where you like it to be put.
If you have any days you can't receive your delivery please let us know when ordering.
What is the difference between hardwood and softwood firewood?
Hardwood firewood is denser so burns longer than softwood firewood. Softwood firewood ignites more easily. Some people prefer a mixture, getting their fire going with softwood then using hardwood once its up to temperature. Some people use smaller pieces of hardwood to get the fire up to temperature then use larger pieces.
Whats the difference between Seasoned & Kiln Dry?
We don’t believe firewood drying should be forced by heating and releasing unnecessary CO2. Mother nature will do this for us providing we’re patient…. and that’s what we are. The end product is the same. We season our logs in crates in open sided barns to ensure an even amount of air circulates through. Depending on the species 9-18 months is sufficient to ensure it is down below 20% moisture content, the level required for a strong clean burn. That’s why our customers come back… dry seasoned firewood.
Loose vs Stacked Volume
If you take a pile of jumbled, loose logs and stack them tightly and neatly in your log store, the pile of stacked logs takes up less space than the jumbled pile. The Forestry Commission and the Governments regulatory body, Woodfuel, state that one cubic metre of loose logs, when stacked, will take up a volume of approximately 60% to 70% of a cubic metre.
Why do we sell logs loose?
When we are handling the logs its efficient for us to use machinery to tip the logs into the delivery truck or bag. If we were to deliver stacked logs they would be much more expensive due to the labour needed.
Do you sell a ton of logs?
Dry firewood is required to be sold by volume not weight.
Seasoned hardwoods will weight approximately 350kg/m3 as a guide. Typical builders bulk bags are 0.6m3 so the wood weighs around 220kg as a comparison, not a ton.
If you do want a ton, order a full tipper load of hardwood.
How much Firewood do I need?
Most people order based on how large their store is, then top up as needed.
A hardwood Bulk Bag volume of wood (0.6m3) will have enough for around 20 fires burning for a few hours each. Occasional users one or two bulk bags will be sufficient for the winter. If you are using your fire every day you will get through a couple of bulk bags month.
